Frequently asked questions.

  • Although it is beneficial to start looking after your skin early, it is never too late. There are contraindications to some treatments but these are related to health and wellbeing and manufacturers guidance and age is not a restriction.

  • Skincare and the understanding of skin concerns is evolving rapidly and there are now treatments designed to delay and minimise the development of concerns rather when a regimen of good skincare and treatments are adopted.

  • There is always a risk of a skin reaction to some products and treatments  but if this occurs it is usually temporary. Some products need to have patch tests performed prior to a treatment but this still does not guarantee that there will not be a reaction at the time of treatment. Some treatments are expecting an inflammatory response which signals that skin rejuvenation has been stimulated.

  • There are contraindications to some treatments and these will be discussed before you consent to a treatment. In some cases medical permission will be required. Your treatments are specifically chosen to suit your skin goals and your individual skin and lifestyle.

  • This will depend upon what treatment you have received. Some treatments such as chemical peels and microneedling are designed to have downtime while others are designed to improve your skin appearance almost immediately.

  • You and your skin will be individually assessed and a bespoke programme of treatments will be determined that suit both your skin needs and lifestyle.

  • Sometimes different treatments can be combined and used in one bespoke treatment session and different treatments can be planned into your ongoing treatment plan.

  • Home-skincare and treatment aftercare will be discussed during your appointments to decide what products could help and how to use them to achieve your desired results.

  • Collagen induction treatments are designed to cause your skin to produce new collagen. Collagen forms the scaffolding and support to your skin and also holds water so increasing collagen helps skin to look smoother, brighter and plumper.
